ERS, the specialist motor insurer at Lloyds, is proud to announce that it is a new corporate supporter of the London and Wales Air Ambulance charities. The alliance is announced as National Air Ambulance Week gets underway this week (19-26 September).

London's Air Ambulance (LAA) attends some 2,000 incidents a year, of which approximately a third (30%) are associated with Road Traffic Collisions. Wales Air Ambulance (WAA) carries out approximately 1,500 missions a year, again of which a third relate to Road Traffic Collisions.

The charities were selected following a vote among over 650 employees across ERS's London and Swansea offices. For a minimum of three years staff at each location will run their own initiatives, and also support those organised by LAA and WAA to raise much-needed funds to support the work of both charities in their respective regions.

To celebrate the partnership, and as its first company fundraising activity, staff at ERS's Swansea office ran a raffle which has raised over £500 for the WAA.

With offices in London and Wales, the relationship also allows ERS to contribute directly to the communities in which it operates.

Peter Hessey, HR Director and Head of the ERS Charity Committeesaid: "As an organisation that deals frequently with the after-effects of incidents like Road Traffic Collisions we understand the life-changing impact these can have. The value of the assistance that the London and Wales Air Ambulance services provide in these and many other challenging circumstances cannot be underestimated, yet these organisations are solely reliant on public donations to remain flying. We could not be more proud to be a sponsor of these of these extremely important charities."
