This move was the first step in our commitment to nurturing local talent and contributing to the local economy.

Now, with rapid growth and an unwavering commitment, we are ready to create more than 50 job opportunities at our Swansea headquarters.

When working with us, you gain access to a number of employee benefits. Here's a glimpse of the benefits we offer:

Become part of the ERS family

At ERS, fostering a sense of family is at the core of our workplace philosophy. We are immensely proud of the workplace culture that we have created at each of our headquarters and believe that a cohesive and supportive team is the foundation of our success.

We have cultivated and actively encouraged the development of a family atmosphere where our employees can communicate freely, ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard and valued, all the while striving toward a shared goal.

Helen Boor, PI Claims Handler, Claims Ops ERS - Complex PI, explains:

“Every day I get to work with the most committed team of people and over the years have made the best, lifelong friends.

“ERS is not just an insurance company, it is a company that values and supports its employees in every aspect of their lives. Every day I get to work for a company whose culture is to put their employees first, a company who I am extremely proud to work for.”

Regular team-building activities and social events are organised to create opportunities for employee bonding beyond just work-related tasks. It is this commitment to promoting camaraderie and a supportive atmosphere that makes our offices feel like a second home for our dedicated team.

Career progression opportunities

We are also dedicated to nurturing our employees’ personal and professional development and empowering them to reach their full potential in any way we can. We understand that career growth is a vital aspect of job satisfaction and professional fulfilment. That’s why we offer comprehensive support that includes apprenticeships and assistance in obtaining Chartered Institute of Insurers qualifications.

Geraint Protheroe, Broker Development Support Executive, explains:

“ERS is more than a company; it is a place that nurtures you and challenges you to be your best.

“ERS develops you and helps you to be your best, as you grow you will find new challenges becoming available to you from across all sectors of the company. We have people that started as claims handlers that now work in Finance, IT, Change, and Sales and Marketing. ERS will challenge you and help bring out the very best version of yourself, your only limit is your own imagination.”

We believe that learning and growth should be an ongoing process, so we provide study support, mentorship, and resources to help our team enhance their knowledge and expertise. Our commitment to employee development is a pledge we take seriously, as we aim to empower each member of our team to excel in their careers and continue to contribute their best to our organisation.

A focus on diversity, inclusion and equality

We continue to be an organisation that recognises and values individual difference. We are committed to being an employer of choice, where all colleagues feel they belong and can develop and succeed, irrespective of characteristics, background, experiences, and perspectives.

Identifying and removing barriers to diversity, equity and inclusion is key and is embedded across our core policies, processes and ways of operating including our practices for Hiring & Selection, Development, Succession, Culture and Reward. The following initiatives are implemented company-wide, intended to support us in achieving our ambitions:

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champions

Our voluntary Champions play a key role in developing our agenda and supporting its implementation. Champions ensure the voices of our colleagues are heard and that everyone is able to input into the agenda and support our journey.

The Brokerage
ERS has partnered with The Brokerage, an organisation that supports social mobility. This partnership allows us to access a broader pool of talent, increasing diversity in our entry-level roles and providing opportunity to a pool of talent that may have limited access to the Insurance industry.

Moving Ahead Mentoring Programme
IQUW Group – the wider ERS family – has partnered with Moving Ahead and the 30% Club to drive female talent development. We believe the programme will support our high-potential female mentees and enable our mentors to drive the development of other females through their advice and support.

Internal Mentoring Programme
A pilot internal mentoring programme aimed at females is underway. The aim of the programme is to increase the gender balance in our mid-senior level positions, through targeted developmental support.

Training
In order to minimise bias in our decisions, unconscious bias training is mandated for all colleagues. Additionally, hiring managers receive training and support on inclusive hiring practices and we continue to discuss inclusive behaviours with our colleagues to create a culture where everyone can thrive.
