2025 ERS Assets Helen Lewis BL

Our Specialist Claims team is dedicated to handling some of the most unique and high-value cases. Predominantly focused on Agriculture and Prestige Motor, the team also manages a range of other niche products. By keeping the team ring-fenced, we ensure every claim gets the specialist attention it deserves, with a service tailored to the needs of clients whose livelihoods or prized possessions depend on these vehicles. Stepping into the role at the beginning of August, Helen’s aim is to build on the strong foundations already in place and take the service to the next level - ensuring brokers and their clients receive a swift, seamless experience when the unexpected happens.

Helen brings proven people leadership skills from her time as ERS Third Party Team Leader since 2021, along with fresh insight from her additional role as claims representative for Motor Innovation – our newest Specialist Class focusing on the future of mobility. “My personal development plan for 2025 was all about broadening my knowledge and working with more stakeholders,” she explains. “Motor Innovation is still in its infancy, with unique policy wordings focusing on a completely new specialist area of motor. I wanted to be part of something different.”

Her career ambitions were further shaped when she returned from maternity leave in June 2024 and joined the ERS mentoring programme. “I chose Martin Hall, our MD, as my mentor because I wanted guidance from someone with experience across the business, including underwriting and pricing. The programme has been a fantastic way to meet people, enhance my profile, and get real, actionable advice. This role was out of my comfort zone, I’d never done Accidental Damage (AD) before, but Martin was really encouraging, and his guidance has been invaluable.”

While Helen is new to the technical side of AD, her track record in running successful teams and her Personal Injury experience mean she can quickly apply transferable skills. “For our agricultural clients, these vehicles are essential to their livelihoods. For our high-net-worth clients, their vehicles are often of significant personal value. By understanding the nuances of each claim type – from large loss to Third Party Fire and Theft – we can resolve issues quickly and deliver the high level of service every client expects,” she says.

Helen’s leadership style combines hands-on support for her team with a strong emphasis on collaboration, ensuring every claim is handled in a way that protects broker–client relationships. “I want brokers to see our team as a partner who will fight to get the right outcome for their customer,” she adds.

What excites her most? “Learning from my team, building relationships with underwriters and brokers, and raising the profile of what we do. The variety of claims this team manages is incredible – I want people to really understand the value and versatility of our work.”

And when she’s not leading the claims team, Helen’s often on stage. She’s a passionate musical theatre performer, with roles ranging from Vivienne in Legally Blonde to a tap-dancing horse in The Wind in the Willows – and is soon to appear in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Helen’s message to brokers is simple: “We’re here to make your life easier, protect your client relationships, and ensure every claim is handled with the specialist attention it deserves.”
